RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING SPONSORSHIP OF THE
2026 NAACP FREEDOM FUND BANQUET
FOR THE CITY OF AMES, IOWA
WHEREAS, the NAACP Freedom Fund Banquet is a signature annual event for
the Ames Branch of this important organization. Through this and other events, the
NAACP facilitate meaningful conversations to strive for equitable outcomes for the whole
community. In 2025, the City participated in this event as a $3,003 Sponsor.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Ames,
Iowa, that the use of $3,003 from the Council Contingency Account for Sponsorship level
for the 2026 NAACP Freedom Fund Banquet which provides two tables or 16 seats is
hereby approved.
ADOPTED THIS 10th day of February, 2026.
