HomeMy WebLinkAbout~Master - Resolution approving final plans and specifications for FY 2023/24 Story County Edge of Field Project and awarding a contract to Hands On Excavating, of Radcliffe, IA, in the amount of $292,849.82RESOLUTION NO. 26-037 RESOLUTION APPROVING FINAL PLANS, SPECIFICATIONS, AND FORM OF CONTRACT AND AWARDING A CONTRACT FOR THE CONSTRUCTION OF FY 2023/24 STORY COUNTY EDGE OF FIELD PROJECT FOR THE CITY OF AMES, IOWA WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Ames, Iowa, has heretofore approved plans, specifications, and form of contract for the construction of the FY 2023/24 Story County Edge Of Field Project as described in Resolution No. 25-558 adopted on the 18th day of October, 2025; and, WHEREAS, a hearing has been held on objections to the proposed plans, specifications, and form of contract, and to the cost of the proposed improvement in said City, and all objections thereto have been overruled. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Ames, Iowa, that the plans, specifications, and form of contract referred to in the preamble hereof be and the same are hereby finally approved, and the prior action of the Council approvin g them is hereby finally confirmed; and, WHEREAS, the Council did publish a Notice to Bidders for the construction of said work; and, WHEREAS, all bids have been received and considered. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Ames, Iowa, as follows: Section One. It is hereby found and determined that the bid of Hands On Excavating, of Radcliffe, IA, in the amount of $292,849.82 is the lowest and best bid for said work, and the same is hereby accepted. Section Two. The Mayor and Clerk are hereby authorized and directed to execute a contract with the said company in accordance with the company’s proposal and the Notice to Bidders, and in accordance with the plans and specifications heretofore adopted and approved. Section Three. All bids or proposals received are hereby directed to be filed. Section Four. All other bids, other than that accepted, are hereby rejected, and the Clerk is hereby authorized and directed to return certified checks or bid bonds accompanying such unsuccessful bids and take receipts therefore to be filed in the Clerk’s office. Section Five. All resolutions or orders or parts thereof in conflict herewith are hereby repealed to the extent of such conflict.
