RESOLUTION APPROVING CLOSURE OF STREETS FOR
MUSIC WALK EVENT
FOR THE CITY OF AMES
WHEREAS, Ames Main Street (AMS) is hosting its annual Music Walk on Thursday,
September 17, 2026, from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.; and,
WHEREAS, in order to facilitate this event, Ames Main Street has requested the
closures of Kellogg Avenue and Douglas Avenue from Main Street to Fifth Street from
3:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.; and,
WHEREAS, the Music Walk is a popular annual event that adds vitality to the
Downtown, and the organizers have experience in hosting this and many other similar
events throughout the year.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Ames,
Iowa, that the closure of Kellogg Avenue and Douglas Avenue from Main Street to Fifth
Street from 3:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., during the Music Walk event on Thursday, September
17, 2026, is hereby approved.
ADOPTED THIS 13th day of January, 2026.
