RESOLUTION APPROVING SUSPENSION OF PARKING METER FEES AND
ENFORCEMENT FOR 23 METERED PARKING SPACES FOR
ART WALK EVENT
FOR THE CITY OF AMES
WHEREAS, Ames Main Street (AMS) is hosting its annual Art Walk on Thursday,
June 11, 2026, from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.; and,
WHEREAS, in order to facilitate this event, Ames Main Street has requested the
closure of 23 metered parking spaces in Downtown from 3:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m.; and,
WHEREAS, the Art Walk is a popular annual event that adds vitality to the
Downtown, and the organizers have experience in hosting this and many other similar
events throughout the year.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Ames,
Iowa, that suspension of parking meter fees and enforcement for 23 metered parking
spaces during the Art Walk event on Thursday, June 11, 2026, is hereby approved.
ADOPTED THIS 13th day of January, 2026.
