RESOLUTION APPROVING CONTRACT AND BOND
FOR CONSTRUCTION OF THE HOMEWOOD GOLF COURSE HOLE NINE
CROSSING IMPROVEMENT PROJECT
FOR THE CITY OF AMES, IOWA
WHEREAS, this City Council has heretofore determined it advisable and
necessary that certain improvements be constructed in the City of Ames, Iowa, such
project having been designated as the Homewood Golf Course Hole Nine Crossing
Improvement Project; and, pursuant to notice and hearing, bids were received on the 12th
day of November, 2025, as called for in the detailed plans and specifications as prepared
by the Parks and Recreation Department and filed with the City Clerk on the 14th day of
October, 2025; and,
WHEREAS, the City Council has heretofore determined that the bid of Con-Struct,
of Ames, IA, in the amount of $213,410 is the lowest and best bid submitted for the
construction of said project; and,
WHEREAS, the Contract in the form provided in said plans and specifications has
been executed by said contractor, and satisfactory performance bond has been filed by
said contractor.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Ames,
Iowa, as follows:
Section One. The Contract between the City of Ames, Iowa, and Con-Struct, of
Ames, IA, in the amount of $213,410 dated the 18th day of November, 2025, for
the Homewood Golf Course Hole Nine Crossing Improvement Project as provided
for in the detailed plans and specifications referred to in the preamble hereof, and
the performance bond of the said contractor with Merchants Bonding Company
(Mutual), of Des Moines, IA, as surety thereon, in the amount of $213,410 filed in
connection therewith, be and the same are hereby approved.
Section Two. All resolutions or order or parts thereof in conflict herewith are hereby
repealed to the extent of such conflict.
