RESOLUTION APPROVING WAIVER OF ELECTRICITY FEES
FOR AMES MAIN STREET SNOW MAGIC EVENT
FOR THE CITY OF AMES, IOWA
WHEREAS, Ames Main Street (AMS) plans to host its annual Snow Magic
Celebration December 1st through December 31st, 2025. The event will continue
throughout the month of December with promotions in Downtown businesses ; and,
WHEREAS, to facilitate this event, AMS has made the following requests: use of
electricity in Tom Evans Plaza and waiver of fees for electricity (loss of $10 to the Electric
Fund); and,
WHEREAS, Snow Magic provides an opportunity to draw residents and visitors to
the Downtown and supports local businesses during the holiday shopping season.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Ames,
Iowa, that waiver of electricity fees for AMS Snow Magic event is hereby approved.
ADOPTED THIS 9th day of December, 2025.
