RESOLUTION APPROVING COMMISSION ON THE ARTS (COTA)
SPRING 2026 SPECIAL PROJECT GRANT CONTRACT
FOR THE CITY OF AMES, IOWA
WHEREAS, on November 3, 2025, COTA finalized its recommendations for Spring
2026 Special Project Grants. One grant request was received totaling $1,000. COTA has
$7,262 in funding available for Spring 2026 Special Project grants; and,
WHEREAS, special project grants help advance participation in and awareness of
the arts in the Ames community, which is a key goal of the Commission . The project
proposed to be financed through this grant is a demonstration of many of the traditions
that are exhibited at traditional Indian weddings.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Ames,
Iowa, that the Spring 2026 COTA Special Project Grant contract with India Cultural
Association in the amount of $682.50 as recommended is hereby approved.
ADOPTED THIS 25th day of November, 2025.
