RESOLUTION APPROVING CONTRACT AND BOND FOR CONSTRUCTION OF
CYRIDE 2025 BATTERY ELECTRIC BUS FACILITY IMPROVEMENT PROJECT
FOR THE CITY OF AMES, IOWA
WHEREAS, this City Council has heretofore determined it advisable and necessary
that certain improvements be constructed in the City of Ames, Iowa, such project having
been designated as the CyRide 2025 Battery Electric Bus Facility Improvement Project;
and, pursuant to notice and hearing, bids were received on the 8th day of October, 2025,
as called for in the detailed plans and specifications as prepared by the Transit Department
and filed with the City Clerk on the 8th day of September, 2025; and,
WHEREAS, the City Council has heretofore determined that the bid of NAI
Electrical Contractors, of Ames, IA, in the amount of $77,300 is the lowest and best bid
submitted for the construction of said project; and,
WHEREAS, the Contract in the form provided in said plans and specifications has
been executed by said contractor, and satisfactory performance bond has been filed by
said contractor.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Ames,
Iowa, as follows:
Section One. The Contract between the City of Ames, Iowa, and NAI Electrical
Contractors, of Ames, IA, in the amount of $77,300 dated the 14th day of October,
2025, for the CyRide 2025 Battery Electric Bus Facility Improvement Project as
provided for in the detailed plans and specifications referred to in the preamble
hereof, and the performance bond of the said contractor with Merchants Bonding
Company (Mutual), of West Des Moines, IA, as surety thereon, in the amount of
$77,300 filed in connection therewith, be and the same are hereby approved.
Section Two. All resolutions or order or parts thereof in conflict herewith are hereby
repealed to the extent of such conflict.
