RESOLUTION CERTIFYING ANNEXATION AREA POPULATIONS
TO THE STATE TREASURER
FOR THE CITY OF AMES, IOWA
WHEREAS, the City of Ames did recently complete the process of annexing two
properties; and,
WHEREAS, the annexations did annex properties from multiple property owners
into the corporate city limits of Ames, Iowa; and,
WHEREAS, the Code of Iowa 312.3(4) requires the Mayor and City Council to
certify the population of any annexed territory, as determined by the last certified Federal
census to the Treasurer of State in order for apportionment of Road Use Tax Funds to be
adjusted; and,
WHEREAS, the population of the properties annexed is twenty-three (23) citizens.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Ames,
Iowa, that the City Council certifies the population of the recently annexed territory into
the corporate city limits of Ames, Iowa, is twenty-three (23) citizens.
ADOPTED THIS 28th day of October, 2025.
