I. Call to order: 1731 (Zwank)
II. Consent Agenda: Motion to approve by Reutter/Stromberg-Murphy. Unanimous.
a. Present: Rowland, Rogowski, Stromberg-Murphy, Hoff-Grambau, Zwank,
Reutter, Schmidt, Agnihotri, Kedrowski, Merchant, Lindsley, Kumar
III. Commission Committee
a. Outreach
i. No updates
b. Public Relations
i. Established a baseline calendar for social media posts
ii. Going to post on groups on Facebook as well
iii. Planning some longer pieces, beginning with the roundabout project
c. Collection Management
i. Found a few more pieces
ii. A number of pieces will need to be reviewed for maintenance
iii. There is interest in looking into the GIS website again so that the
public has access to a map of art pieces within the city
1. Looking at having Lisa from the city come to a future PAC
meeting and discuss the GIS
2. Kedrowski suggested using PAC funds to hire a professional
photographer to take updated pictures of each PAC piece
a. Kedrowski will get an estimate of cost before PAC
moves forward with getting quotes from photographers
IV. Public Forum
a. None
V. Chair’s Report/Comments
a. A sign-up for the Reiman Garden Art Fair has been sent out via email
b. Commission photo will be at September meeting
VI. City of Ames Liaison Report
a. New parking passes available
VII. Old Business
a. Calendar project
i. Meeting with the printer this month
ii. Next month will discuss quantity and locations for selling them
1. Stromberg-Murphy will ask for cost breakdowns by quantity
iii. There have been several submissions
b. AMES project
i. Call for artists has gone out and there have been several inquiries
ii. A committee needs to be selected to review submissions
1. Erica Briest, Reutter, and Merchant will serve on the committee
2. Merchant will ask CyRide for a representative for the
committee
VIII. New Business
a. None
IX. For the Good of the Order
a. Kumar has been invited to present on his Ames Lit Trail idea on August 6
b. No updates on the Trolls or Schainker Plaza
X. Motion to Adjourn at 1830 by Stromberg-Murphy/Reutter. Unanimous.
