Home My WebLink About~Master - Resolution adopting 2050 Metropolitan Transportation Plan, Ames Connect 2050RESOLUTION NO. 25-466 RESOLUTION ADOPTING THE 2050 METROPOLITAN TRANSPORTATION PLAN (AMES CONNECT 2050) FOR THE AMES AREA METROPOLITAN PLANNING ORGANIZATION WHEREAS, the Ames Area Metropolitan Planning Organization was officially designated as the metropolitan planning organization (MPO) of the Ames urbanized area by the Governor of Iowa in March 2003; and, WHEREAS, all MPOs are federally required to develop performance-based, long-range plans that establish a regional vision for the multimodal transportation system with a planning horizon year of at least twenty years from present and an update frequency of every five years; and, WHEREAS, the Ames Area MPO has developed a 2050 Metropolitan Transportation Plan, Ames Connect 2050, to satisfy this federal requirement ; and, WHEREAS, Ames Connect 2050 was developed in accordance with all applicable state and federal regulations and guidance and with frequent coordination and input from regional stakeholders, member agencies, the public, the Iowa Department of Transportation, the Federal Highway Administration, and the Federal Transit Administration; and, WHEREAS, Ames Connect 2050 and its fiscally constrained project lists will guide regional investment decisions, advance safety and mobility, support economic vitality, and promote a balanced multimodal transportation system that reflects the values and needs of the Ames region. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Ames Area Metropolitan Planning Organization hereby adopts the 2050 Metropolitan Transportation Plan (Ames Connect 2050).
