RESOLUTION APPROVING CONTRACT AND BOND FOR CONSTRUCTION OF
2024/25 MULTI-MODAL ROADWAY IMPROVEMENTS
(6TH STREET, NORTH OF CITY HALL)
FOR THE CITY OF AMES, IOWA
WHEREAS, this City Council has heretofore determined it advisable and
necessary that certain improvements be constructed in the City of Ames, Iowa, such
project having been designated as the 2024/25 Multi-Modal Roadway Improvements (6th
Street, North of City Hall); and, pursuant to notice and hearing, bids were received on the
6th day of August, 2025, as called for in the detailed plans and specifications as prepared
by the Public Works Department and filed with the City Clerk on the 3rd day of July, 2025;
and,
WHEREAS, the City Council has heretofore determined that the bid of MidState
Solution, LLC of Baxter, Iowa, in the amount of $125,151.50 is the lowest and best bid
submitted for the construction of said project; and,
WHEREAS, the Contract in the form provided in said plans and specifications has
been executed by said contractor, and satisfactory performance bond has been filed by
said contractor.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Ames,
Iowa, as follows:
Section One. The Contract between the City of Ames, Iowa, and MidState
Solution, LLC of Baxter, Iowa, in the amount of $125,151.50 dated the 12th day of
August, 2025, for the 2024/25 Multi-Modal Roadway Improvements (6th Street,
North of City Hall) as provided for in the detailed plans and specifications referred
to in the preamble hereof, and the performance bond of the said contractor with
West Bend Insurance, of West Bend, Wisconsin, as surety thereon, in the amount
of $125,151.50 filed in connection therewith, be and the same are hereby
approved.
Section Two. All resolutions or order or parts thereof in conflict herewith are hereby
repealed to the extent of such conflict.
ADOPTED THIS 9th day of September, 2025.
