RESOLUTION APPROVING CONTRACT AND BOND FOR CONSTRUCTION OF
2025/26 WATER SYSTEM IMPROVEMENTS PROGRAM
(E. 14TH ST & MEADOWLANE AVE)
FOR THE CITY OF AMES, IOWA
WHEREAS, this City Council has heretofore determined it advisable and
necessary that certain improvements be constructed in the City of Ames, Iowa, such
project having been designated as the 2025/26 Water System Improvements Program
(E. 14th St & Meadowlane Ave); and, pursuant to notice and hearing, bids were received
on the 6th day of August, 2025, as called for in the detailed plans and specifications as
prepared by the Public Works Department and filed with the City Clerk on the 21st day of
July, 2025; and,
WHEREAS, the City Council has heretofore determined that the bid of Jet Drain
Services, LLC of Ames, Iowa, in the amount of $314,426 is the lowest and best bid
submitted for the construction of said project; and,
WHEREAS, the Contract in the form provided in said plans and specifications has
been executed by said contractor, and satisfactory performance bond has been filed by
said contractor.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Ames,
Iowa, as follows:
Section One. The Contract between the City of Ames, Iowa, and Jet Drain
Services, LLC of Ames, Iowa, in the amount of $314,426 dated the 12th day of
August, 2025, for the 2025/26 Water System Improvements Program (E. 14th St &
Meadowlane Ave) as provided for in the detailed plans and specifications referred
to in the preamble hereof, and the performance bond of the said contractor with
Old Republic Surety Company, of West Des Moines, Iowa, as surety thereon, in
the amount of $314,426 filed in connection therewith, be and the same are hereby
approved.
Section Two. All resolutions or order or parts thereof in conflict herewith are hereby
repealed to the extent of such conflict.
