RESOLUTION APPROVING CONTRACT RENEWAL FOR REGULATORY
COMPLIANCE MONITORING AT THE ASH POND
FOR THE ELECTRIC SERVICES DEPARTMENT, CITY OF AMES, IOWA
WHEREAS, the Power Plant is required to conduct monitoring and reporting to
comply with the U.S. EPA's Coal Combustion Residuals rule. On October 11, 2024, the
City Manager's Office approved a contract to GHD Services Inc., of Niagara, NY, for
Annual Regulatory Compliance Monitoring at the Ash Pond with an option to renew each
year for up to five years.
IT IS THEREFORE RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Ames, Iowa, as
follows:
Section One. Award of contract is made as follows:
GHD Services Inc., of Niagara Falls, NY, for Regulatory Compliance
Monitoring at the Ash Pond, for one -year in an amount not-to-exceed
$80,000.
Section Two. The City Manager and City Clerk are authorized to execute said
contract for and on behalf of the City of Ames, Iowa, and to affix the corporate seal
of the City thereto.
Section Three. All resolutions or orders or parts thereof in conflict herewith are
hereby repealed to the extent of such conflict.
