HomeMy WebLinkAbout~Master - July 8, 2025, Regular Meeting of the Ames Area Metropolitan Planning Organization (AAMPO) Transportation Policy Committee Minutes1 MINUTES OF THE REGULAR MEETING OF THE AMES AREA METROPOLITAN PLANNING ORGANIZATION (AAMPO) TRANSPORTATION POLICY COMMITTEE AMES, IOWA JULY 8, 2025 CALL TO ORDER: The Ames Area Metropolitan Planning Organization (AAMPO) Transportation Policy Committee meeting was called to order by Ames Mayor and voting member John Haila at 6:00 p.m. on the 8th day of July, 2025. Other voting members present were: Bronwyn Beatty-Hansen, City of Ames; Gloria Betcher, City of Ames; Amber Corrieri, City of Ames; Tim Gartin, City of Ames; Rachel Junck, City of Ames; Anita Rollins, City of Ames; Mayor Jonathon Popp, City of Gilbert; Linda Murken, Story County Board of Supervisors; and Emily Boland, Ames Transit Agency Board of Trustees. Chair Haila announced that it was impossible to hold an in-person AAMPO meeting due to an electric panel malfunction eliminating power to City Hall, 515 Clark Avenue . Thus, this meeting was held as an electronic meeting as allowed by Section 21.8 of the Code of Iowa. He then provided how the public could participate in the meeting electronically. HEARING ON FFY 2026-2029 TRANSPORTATION IMPROVEMENT PROGRAM: Transportation Planner Kyle Thompson highlighted that no comments were received on the draft plan from the public during the comment period. The Iowa Department of Transportation (IDOT) provided minor comments that were incorporated into the final plan. Chair Haila opened and closed the Public Hearing when no one came forward to speak. Moved by Betcher, seconded by Murken, to adopt RESOLUTION NO. 25-340 approving Final FFY 2026-2029 Transportation Improvement Program. Vote on Motion: 10-0. Resolution declared adopted unanimously, signed by the Mayor, and hereby made a portion of these minutes. POLICY COMMITTEE COMMENTS: None. ADJOURNMENT: Moved by Betcher, seconded by Murken, to adjourn the meeting at 6:03 p.m. Vote on Motion: 10-0.
