RESOLUTION APPROVING THE SUBMITTAL OF
ENERGY EFFICIENCY AND CONSERVATION BLOCK GRANT
FOR AN ELECTRIC VEHICLE CHARGING STATION
FOR THE CITY OF AMES, IOWA
WHEREAS, staff became aware of the recent Energy Efficiency and Conservation
Block Grant (EECBG) opportunity from the Iowa Economic Development and Finance
Authority to advance electric vehicle (EV) charging; and,
WHEREAS, since this aligns with the City’s Climate Action Plan and Capital
Improvement Plan, and given the short timeframe to apply, staff proceeded with
submitting a proposal believed to be feasible to accomplish.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Ames,
Iowa, that the submittal of Energy Efficiency and Conservation Block Grant for an Electric
Vehicle Charging Station for up to $156,000 is hereby approved.
ADOPTED THIS 12th day of August, 2025.
