RESOLUTION APPROVING CONTRACT AND BOND FOR CONSTRUCTION OF
PARKS AND RECREATION MAINTENANCE EXPANSION PROJECT
FOR THE CITY OF AMES, IOWA
WHEREAS, this City Council has heretofore determined it advisable and
necessary that certain improvements be constructed in the City of Ames, Iowa, such
project having been designated as the Parks and Recreation Maintenance Expansion
Project; and, pursuant to notice and hearing, bids were received on the 24th day of June,
2025, as called for in the detailed plans and specifications as prepared by the Parks and
Recreation Department and filed with the City Clerk on the 13th day of May, 2025; and,
WHEREAS, the City Council has heretofore determined that the bid of King
Knutson Construction, Inc., of Iowa Falls, IA, in the amount of $1,334,075 is the lowest
and best bid submitted for the construction of said project; and,
WHEREAS, the Contract in the form provided in said plans and specifications has
been executed by said contractor, and satisfactory performance bond has been filed by
said contractor.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Ames,
Iowa, as follows:
Section One. The Contract between the City of Ames, Iowa, and King Knutson
Construction, Inc., of Iowa Falls, IA, in the amount of $1,334,075 dated the 24th
day of June, 2025, for the Parks and Recreation Maintenance Expansion Project
as provided for in the detailed plans and specifications referred to in the preamble
hereof, and the performance bond of the said contractor with Hudson Insurance
Company, of New York, NY, as surety thereon, in the amount of $1,344,075 filed
in connection therewith, be and the same are hereby approved.
Section Two. All resolutions or order or parts thereof in conflict herewith are hereby
repealed to the extent of such conflict.
ADOPTED THIS 22nd day of July, 2025.
