OF THE AMES CITY COUNCIL
AMES, IOWA OCTOBER 12, 1990
The Ames City Council met in special session at 12:30 p.m. on October 12, 1990, in the Council
Chambers in the City Hall, 515 Clark Avenue, pursuant to law with Mayor Pro Tem Parks presiding
and the following members present: Brown, Hertz, and Wirth. Mayor Curtis and Council Members
Campbell and Hoffman were absent.
CONSTRUCTION/DEMOLITION LANDFILL SITE: Moved by Hertz, seconded by Wirth,
to approve the site request for a construction/demolition landfill as submitted by Ames-Story
Environmental Landfill, Inc. subject to receipt of the site improvement bond in the amount of
$18,500 and that the Iowa DNR be notified that the City of Ames intends to include this landfill
operation in the City's comprehensive plan.
Vote on Motion: 4-0. Motion declared carried unanimously.
BONFIRE AT GREAT COMMISSION CHURCH: Moved by Hertz, seconded by Brown, to
direct Staff not to enforce provisions of Section 10.8(2)b of the Municipal Code to allow the
Great Commission Church to have a bonfire on property located at 715 South Duff on October
13, 1990.
Vote on Motion: 4-0. Motion declared carried unanimously.
COMMENTS: There were no comments.
ADJOURNMENT: The meeting was adjourned at 12:36 p.m.
