OF THE AMES CITY COUNCIL
AMES, IOWA JULY 7, 1995
The Ames City Council met in special session at 12:00 p.m. in the City Council Chambers in the
City Hall, 515 Clark Avenue, pursuant to law with Mayor Larry Curtis presiding and the following
Council members present: Campbell, Hoffman, Tedesco, and Wirth.
FIREWORKS PERMIT FOR AMES JAYCEES: Motion by Tedesco, Second by
Hoffman, to approve request from Ames JayCees for fireworks permit for
rain-delayed 4th of July celebration on Sunday, July 9, 1995, at Stuart
Smith Park, beginning at approximately 9:00 p.m.; setting Friday, July 14,
as rain date; and waiving additional fee for permit.
Vote on Motion: 4-0. Motion declared carried unanimously.
Motion by Tedesco, Second by Campbell, to direct Staff to revise
the fireworks permit application to include language granting an automatic
alternate "in event of cancellation" date for each fireworks permit issued.
Vote on Motion: 4-0. Motion declared carried unanimously.
COMMENTS AND FUTURE AGENDA ITEMS: Coun. Wirth noted the Ginkgo Festival T-shirts
have been prepared and are for sale.
City Clerk Sandra Ryan informed the Council that Staff was suggesting the July 11, 1995 Council
meeting begin at 6:30 p.m. for a presentation of proposals for the Public Safety Building.
ADJOURNMENT: The meeting was adjourned at 12:05 p.m.
