HomeMy WebLinkAbout~Master - Special Meeting of the Ames City Council 03/07/1996 OFFICIAL MINUTES OF THE SPECIAL MEETING OF THE AMES CITY COUNCIL AMES, IOWA MARCH 7, 1996 The Ames City Council met in special session at 3:00 p.m., March 7, 1996, in the City Council Chambers, in the City Hall, 515 Clark Avenue, pursuant to law with Mayor Larry Curtis presiding and the following Council Members present: Parks, Quirmbach, Tedesco, and Wirth. Couns. Campbell and Hoffman were absent. CLOSED SESSION: Motion by Quirmbach, Second by Tedesco, to hold Closed Session as provided by Section 20.17(3), Code of Iowa, to discuss collective bargaining strategy. Roll Call Vote: 4-0. Motion declared carried unanimously. The Closed Session began at 3:02 p.m. RECONVENE: The Special Meeting reconvened at 3:10 p.m. Motion by Tedesco, Second by Parks, to adopt RESOLUTION NO. 96-120 approving contract with PPME, Local Union 2003 (Police Union). Roll Call Vote: 4-0. Resolution declared adopted unanimously, signed by the Mayor, and hereby made a portion of these minutes. COMMENTS: Motion by Tedesco, Second by Quirmbach, to refer to Staff request from Gary Thompson Oil Company regarding extension of storm sewer from 3206 and 3212 Lincoln Way to Manning Street along public easement, and to place consideration of the request on the Council's March 19, 1996 agenda. Vote on Motion: 4-0. Motion declared carried unanimously. ADJOURNMENT: The meeting adjourned at 3:12 p.m. Sandra L. Ryan, City Clerk Larry R. Curtis, Mayor
