RESOLUTION APPROVING PLAT OF SURVEY FOR
3875 & 3877 US HIGHWAY 69
FOR THE CITY OF AMES
WHEREAS, application for a proposed Plat of Survey has been submitted for a
boundary line adjustment per Section 23.309 of the Municipal Code; and,
WHEREAS, the site is located at 3875 & 3877 US Highway 69, and the owner is
Kyle W. & Alyssa C. Obermeier; and,
WHEREAS, the real estate description is as follows:
Survey Description - Parcel G:
That part of the North Half of the Southwest Quarter of Section 23, Township 83 North,
Range 24 West of the 5th P.M., Story County, Iowa, being more particularly described as
follows: Beginning at the Southeast Corner of the Northeast Quarter of the Southwest
Quarter; thence S89°52'08"W, 2638.88 feet to the Southwest Corner of the Northwest
Quarter of the Southwest Quarter; thence N00°10'09"W, 409.98 f eet along the west line
thereof to the Southwest Corner of a tract in said North Half of the Southwest Quarter, as
shown on the Plat of Survey filed in Book 2, Page 104; thence following the southerly line
of said tract N55°25'53"E, 353.53 feet; thence N40 °04'16"E, 281.33 feet; thence
N88°01'28"E, 459.10 feet; thence N22°55'14"E, 376.00 feet; thence S89°50'53"E, 208.70
feet; thence S55°48'43"E, 36.07 feet to the east line of said Northwest Quarter of the
Southwest Quarter; thence S00°10,22,,E, 895.86 feet a long said line; thence

That part of the North Half of the Southwest Quarter of Section 23, Township 83 North,
Range 24 West of the 5th P.M., Story County, Iowa, being more particularly described as
follows: Commencing at the Southeast Corner of the Northeast Quarter of the Southwest
Quarter; thence N00°11'12"W, 328.92 feet along the east line of said Southwest Quarter
to the point of beginning; thence N88°18'41"W, 232.97 feet; thence S87°33'38"W, 83.01
feet; thence S76°21'08"W, 83.72 feet; thence S71o54'01"W,142.20 feet; thence
S84°14'40"W, 69.08 feet; thence N89°4T25"W, 719.25 feet to the west line of the
Northeast Quarter of the Southwest Quarter; thence N00°10'22"W, 895.86 feet along said
line to the southerly line of a tract in said North Half of the Southwest Quarter, as show n
on the Plat of Survey filed in Book 2, Page 104; thence following the southerly line of said
tract S55°48'43"E, 241.54 feet; thence N36°30'30"E, 120.30 feet; thence N86°50'42"E,
93.30 feet; thence N43°08,45,'E, 259.30 feet to the Northeast Corner of said tract; thence
N89°52'50''E, 56.98 feet along the north line of said Southwest Quarter to the Northwest
Corner of a tract in the Northeast Quarter of said Southwest Quarter, as shown on the
Plat of Survey filed in Book 2,Page 96; thence S00°06'17"E, 603.50 feet to the Southwest
Corner thereof; thence N89°47'37"E, 721.80 feet to the Southeast Corner of said tract
and the east line of said Southwest Quarter; thence S00°11'12"E, 386.73 feet to the point
of beginning, containing 19.03 acres, which includes 0.44 acres of existing public right of
way.
Easement Description - 20’ Access:
A strip of land 20.00 feet in width across part of the Northeast Quarter of the Southwest
Quarter of Section 23, Township 83 North, Range 24 West of the 5th P.M., Story County,
Iowa, being situated 10.00 feet on each side of the following centerline: Beginning at a
point on the south line of a tract in said Northeast Quarter of the Southwest Quarter, as
shown on the Plat of Survey filed in Book 2, Page 96, which is 133.36 feet West of the
Southeast Corner thereof; thence S01°51'16”W, 371.81 feet to a point on the north line
of an existing 50 foot-wide access easement, recorded at Instrument No. 2019 -10090,
and there terminating; and,
WHEREAS, a preliminary decision of approval for the proposed Plat of Survey
has been rendered by the Planning and Housing Department with no conditions.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Ames,
Iowa, that the Plat of Survey for 3875 & 3877 US Highway 69 is hereby approved.
