HomeMy WebLinkAbout~Master - Approving the funding agreement with the Iowa Department of Transportation in the amount of $700,000 for the 2025/26 Collector Street Pavement Improvements (Bloomington Rehabilitation)RESOLUTION NO. 25-325 RESOLUTION APPROVING THE FUNDING AGREEMENT WITH THE IOWA DEPARTMENT OF TRANSPORTATION FOR THE 2025/26 COLLECTOR STREET PAVEMENT IMPROVEMENTS (BLOOMINGTON REHABILITATION) FOR THE CITY OF AMES, IOWA WHEREAS, the City of Ames has been awarded up to $700,000 (or 80% of the project costs if less than $700,000) through the Iowa Department of Transportation (IDOT) for the 2025/26 Collector Street Pavement Improvements (Bloomington Rehabilitation) project; and, WHEREAS, this project will take place along Bloomington Road, extending from George Washington Carver Avenue to 500 feet west of Eisenhower Avenue. It includes the reconstruction of the shared-use path on the south side of Bloomington Avenue, specifically from Stange Road to 500 feet west of Eisenhower Avenue; and, WHEREAS, this agreement is funded through the Surface Transportation Block Grant Program, a federal aid initiative designed to support transportation improvement projects on streets and highways across Iowa. The funding requires a bid letting process managed by IDOT. This agreement has been reviewed and approved by the City of Ames Legal Department. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Ames, Iowa, that the funding agreement with the Iowa Department of Transportation in the amount of $700,000 for the 2025/26 Collector Street Pavement Improvements (Bloomington Rehabilitation) is hereby approved.
