RESOLUTION WAIVING PURCHASING POLICIES AND PROCEDURES
REQUIREMENT FOR FORMAL BIDDING AND AWARDING
SINGLE SOURCE CONTRACT FOR THE PURCHASE OF
LANDFILL TIPPING FEES FOR ASH DISPOSAL FOR THE POWER PLANT
FOR THE ELECTRIC SERVICES DEPARTMENT
FOR THE CITY OF AMES, IOWA
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Ames,
Iowa, that the waiver of City purchasing policies and procedure requirements for
competitive bidding to award a single source contact is hereby approved.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Ames, Iowa, as
follows:
Section One. Award of contract is made as follows:
Marshall County Landfill, Marshalltown, IA, for landfill tipping fees for Power
Plant ash disposal in the amount not to exceed $100,000, from July 1, 2025,
through June 30, 2026.
Section Two. The City Manager and City Clerk are authorized to execute said
contract for and on behalf of the City of Ames, Iowa, and to affix the corporate seal
of the City thereto.
Section Three. All resolutions or orders or parts thereof in conflict herewith are
hereby repealed to the extent of such conflict.
ADOPTED THIS 10th day of June, 2025.
