HomeMy WebLinkAbout~Master - Approving contract and bond for the 2023/24 CDBG Infrastructure Program (N Russell Avenue - N 2nd Street to N 4th Street)RESOLUTION NO. 25-186 RESOLUTION APPROVING CONTRACT AND BOND FOR CONSTRUCTION OF 2023/24 CDBG INFRASTRUCTURE PROGRAM (N RUSSELL AVENUE - N 2ND STREET TO N 4TH STREET) FOR THE CITY OF AMES, IOWA WHEREAS, this City Council has heretofore determined it advisable and necessary that certain improvements be constructed in the City of Ames, Iowa, such project having been designated as the 2023/24 CDBG Infrastructure Program (N Russell Avenue - N 2nd Street to N 4th Street); and, pursuant to notice and hearing, bids were received on the 2nd day of April, 2025, as called for in the detailed plans and specifications as prepared by the Public Works Department and filed with the City Clerk on the 11th day of March, 2025; and, WHEREAS, the City Council has heretofore determined that the bid of Iowa Water & Waste Systems of Boone, Iowa, in the amount of $346,858.50 is the lowest and best bid submitted for the construction of said project; and, WHEREAS, the Contract in the form provided in said plans and specifications has been executed by said contractor, and satisfactory performance bond has been filed by said contractor. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Ames, Iowa, as follows: Section 1. The Contract between the City of Ames, Iowa, and Iowa Water & Waste Systems of Boone, Iowa, in the amount of $346,858.50 dated the 8th day of April, 2025, for the 2023/24 CDBG Infrastructure Program (N Russell Avenue - N 2nd Street to N 4th Street) as provided for in the detailed plans and specifications referred to in the preamble hereof, and the performance bond of the said contractor with Auto-Owners Mutual Insurance Company, of West Des Moines, Iowa, as surety thereon, in the amount of $345,860.00 filed in connection therewith, be and the same are hereby approved. Section 2. All resolutions or order or parts thereof in conflict herewith are hereby repealed to the extent of such conflict.
