HomeMy WebLinkAbout~Master - Requests from Ames Patriotic Council for Memorial Day Parade on Monday, May 26, 2025RESOLUTION NO. 25-175 RESOLUTION APPROVING TEMPORARY STREET INTERSECTION CLOSURES FOR MEMORIAL DAY PARADE FOR THE CITY OF AMES, IOWA WHEREAS, each year, the Ames Patriotic Council conducts a community observance of Memorial Day, and this observance involves a parade from City Hall to the Municipal Cemetery followed by a memorial service at the cemetery; and, WHEREAS, the Patriotic Council requests that on May 26, 2025, Sixth Street at Clark Avenue and Duff Avenue at Ninth Street be closed temporarily as the parade moves through those intersections; and, WHEREAS, the intersection closure will last only for a number of minutes, and the Public Works Department will provide barricades for all of the street closure areas during the Memorial Day Parade. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Ames, Iowa, that the temporary street closures at the aforementioned intersections for the Memorial Day Parade on May 26, 2025, are hereby approved.
