HomeMy WebLinkAbout~Master - Electric Utility Operations Review and Advisory Board Minutes 11/08/2021MINUTES OF THE REGULAR MEETING OF THE ELECTRIC UTILITY OPERATIONS REVIEW & ADVISORY BOARD (EUORAB) NOVEMBER 8, 2021 The regular meeting of EUORAB was called to order by Wendy Kisch at 12:00 p.m. on November 8, 2021, at 515 Clark Avenue. EUORAB Members present were Wendy Kisch, Scott Bauer, Ken Kruempel, Jeff Witt, and Mike Wilson. Also present were Electric Director Donald Kom and Energy Services Coordinator Kayley Barrios Lain. Approval of September 15, 2021, Minutes: Moved by Bauer, seconded by Witt, to approve the minutes of the September 15, 2021, meeting. Vote 5-0. Motion declared passed unanimously. Public Forum: No comments Discussion of Rebates Program There was discussion about offering a rebate for electric vehicles, both new and used, instead of EV chargers. The Board also considered offering rebates for home weatherization and insulation. Advanced Metering Infrastructure Advanced Metering Infrastructure was added to Electric’s CIP Budget this year. Electric is hoping to install the necessary equipment in thirds potentially starting with Campustown. Updates on Utility-Scale Renewables Electric would like to have a utility owned solar farm that is capable of producing 10 to 50 megawatts of power. City Council approval is needed in order to hire a consultant to conduct a study for potential solar farm locations. The Electric department will also be getting estimates for the installation of rooftop solar on several city buildings.
