Ames Resident Police Advisory Committee Room 135, City Hall Wednesday, October 16th, 2024
1. Call to Order: 5:30 p.m.
Call to Order: 5:30 p.m. This meeting was called to order at 5:32 p.m.
Emily Rebollozo, Edna Clinton, William Arce, Chunhui Xiang, Tim
Rasmussen, Alphonso Campbell (called in via phone), and Roberto Dubiel
were all in attendance.
Chief Huff was in attendance.
2. Approval of Minutes from June and August meeting
Approval of Minutes from June and August Meetings Minutes were
approved by William Arce, seconded by Tim Rasmussen.
3. Public Forum
Sarah asked a question about whether there is a policy on the use of
body cams and where it can be found. This question was primarily
directed toward Chief Huff. Chief Huff confirmed that a policy exists
and directed her to the Police Department's webpage, where she can
access a link to the APD’s policies.
4. Soft Interview Rooms
Soft Interview Rooms Emily Rebollozo brought up the concept, which has
been implemented by some departments, of a Soft Interview Room—a safe
and comfortable space for victims of crimes.

2024 Outreach Efforts and Report to City Council We will begin
drafting the report, have it reviewed, then schedule a time for a city
council meeting to present that report.
