Home My WebLink About~Master - Approving contract and bond for 2024/25 Arterial Street Pavement Improvements (Hyde Avenue) with All Star Concrete LLC, of Johnston, IowaRESOLUTION NO. 25-100 RESOLUTION APPROVING CONTRACT AND BOND FOR CONSTRUCTION OF 2024/25 ARTERIAL STREET PAVEMENT IMPROVEMENTS (HYLAND AVE) FOR THE CITY OF AMES, IOWA WHEREAS, this City Council and the Iowa Department of Transportation (IDOT) have heretofore determined it advisable and necessary that certain improvements be constructed in the City of Ames, Iowa, such project having been designated as the 2024/25 Arterial Street Pavement Improvements (Hyland Ave); and, pursuant to notice and hearing, bids were received on the 18th day of February, 2025, as called for in the detailed plans and specifications as prepared by the IDOT and filed with the City Clerk on the 14th day of January, 2025; and, WHEREAS, this Council and the IDOT have heretofore determined that the bid of All Star Concrete LLC, of Johnston, Iowa, in the amount of $1,696,869.05 is the lowest and best bid submitted for the construction of said project; and, WHEREAS, the Contract in the form provided in said plans and specifications has been executed by said contractor, and satisfactory performance bond has been filed by said contractor. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Ames, Iowa, as follows: Section 1. The Contract between the City of Ames, Iowa, and All Star Concrete LLC, of Johnston, Iowa, in the amount of $1,696,869.05 dated the 25th day of February, 2025, for the 2024/25 Arterial Street Pavement Improvements (Hyland Ave) as provided for in the detailed plans and specifications referred to in the preamble hereof, and the performance bond of the said contractor with Merchants National Bonding, Inc., of West Des Moines, Iowa, as surety thereon, in the amount of $1,696,869.05 filed in connection therewith, be and the same are hereby approved. Section 2. All resolutions or order or parts thereof in conflict herewith are hereby repealed to the extend of such conflict.
