RESOLUTION PROVIDING FOR THE AWARD OF CONTRACT
FOR PURCHASE OF FORESTRY WOOD AND BRUSH CHIPPER
FOR THE PARKS AND RECREATION DEPARTMENT, CITY OF AMES, IOWA
WHEREAS, bids and proposals were received on the 13th day of November, 2024, for the
Forestry Wood and Brush Chipper for the Parks and Recreation Department, City of Ames, Iowa.
Said bids have now been carefully analyzed.
IT IS THEREFORE RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Ames, Iowa, as
follows:
Section 1: Award of contract is made as follows:
Rexco Equipment Inc. of Des Moines, Iowa, for purchase of one 2025 Bandit XP18
Chipper, with powered tongue jack, spare tire, and knife set, for a total amount of
$79,525, and accept Rexco Equipment Inc.’s trade-in offer for the City’s 2015
Vermeer 1800XL of $29,000 and for the 2015 Morbark M12R of $10,000.
Section 2: The City Manager and City Clerk are authorized to execute said contract for
and on behalf of the City of Ames, Iowa, and to affix the corporate seal of the City thereto.
Section 3: All resolutions or orders or parts thereof in conflict herewith are hereby
repealed to the extent of such conflict.
ADOPTED THIS 10th day of December, 2024.
