HomeMy WebLinkAbout~Master - Contract and Bond for 2023/24 Airport Improvement Program (Wildlife Fence Project)RESOLUTION NO. 24-565 RESOLUTION APPROVING CONTRACT AND BOND FOR CONSTRUCTION OF 2023/24 AIRPORT IMPROVEMENT PROGRAM (WILDLIFE FENCE PROJECT) FOR THE CITY OF AMES, IOWA WHEREAS, this City Council has heretofore determined it advisable and necessary that certain improvements be constructed in the City of Ames, Iowa, such project having been designated as the 2023/24 Airport Improvement Program (Wildlife Fence Project); and, pursuant to notice and hearing, bids were received on the 30th day of July, 2024, as called for in the detailed plans and specifications as prepared by the Public Works Department and filed with the City Clerk on the 8th day of July, 2024; and, WHEREAS, the City Council has heretofore determined that the bid of Minturn, Inc., of Brooklyn, Iowa, in the amount of $2,616,005 is the lowest and best bid submitted for the construction of said project; and, WHEREAS, the Contract in the form provided in said plans and specifications has been executed by said contractor, and satisfactory performance bond has been filed by said contractor. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Ames, Iowa, as follows: Section 1. The Contract between the City of Ames, Iowa, and Minturn, Inc., of Brooklyn, Iowa, in the amount of $2,616,005 dated the 6th day of August, 2024, for the 2023/24 Airport Improvement Program (Wildlife Fence Project) as provided for in the detailed plans and specifications referred to in the preamble hereof, and the performance bond of the said contractor with Merchants National Bonding, Inc., of Des Moines, Iowa, as surety thereon, in the amount of $2,616,005 filed in connection therewith, be and the same are hereby approved. Section 2. All resolutions or order or parts thereof in conflict herewith are hereby repealed to the extent of such conflict.
