HomeMy WebLinkAbout~Master - Assessing current charges accumulated under the Dangerous Building Declaration, to the property located at 3323 Tripp StreetRESOLUTION NO. 25-028 RESOLUTION ASSESSING COSTS OF DANGEROUS BUILDING DECLARATION FOR COLLECTION IN THE SAME MANNER AS A PROPERTY TAX PURSUANT TO SECTION 5.407, CODE OF IOWA, FOR THE CITY OF AMES, IOWA WHEREAS, the City of Ames has served notice on the property owner of 3323 Tripp Street by certified mail regarding the dangerous structure located on their property; and, WHEREAS, certain of said property owners did not perform the aforesaid work as required within a reasonable time set by the City; and, WHEREAS, the City has performed the said asbestos and lead testing, junk removal, and securing of the structure, and now desires to assess the costs against the abutting property for collection in the same manner as a property tax. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Ames, Iowa, that pursuant to Section 5.407, Code of Iowa, the cost of the said asbestos and lead testing, junk removal, and securing of the structure is assessed to the property as follows: Auditor’s Record Owner Cost Assessed Property Description 1. James A. Madden $2,788.42 3323 Tripp Street 3323 Tripp Street Ames, Iowa 50014 The said assessments to be due and collected in the same manner as property taxes.
