HomeMy WebLinkAbout~Master - Contract and bond for Lloyd Kurtz Park Mini-Pitch Project, Bid Package 2 – Mini-Pitch System, Lights, and Acrylic Surfacing with Caliber Concrete, LLC of Adair, IowaRESOLUTION NO. 25-004 RESOLUTION APPROVING CONTRACT AND BOND FOR CONSTRUCTION OF LLOYD KURTZ PARK MINI-PITCH PROJECT BID PACKAGE 2 – MINI-PITCH SYSTEM, LIGHTS, AND ACRYLIC SURFACING FOR THE CITY OF AMES, IOWA WHEREAS, this City Council has heretofore determined it advisable and necessary that certain improvements be constructed in the City of Ames, Iowa, such project having been designated as the Lloyd Kurtz Park Mini-Pitch Project, Bid Package 2 – Mini-Pitch System, Lights, and Acrylic Surfacing; and, pursuant to notice and hearing, bids were received on the 4th day of December, 2024, as called for in the detailed plans and specifications as prepared by the Parks and Recreation Department and filed with the City Clerk on the 12th day of November, 2024; and, WHEREAS, the City Council has heretofore determined that the bid of Caliber Concrete, LLC of Adair, Iowa, in the amount of $109,300 is the lowest and best bid submitted for the construction of said project; and, WHEREAS, the Contract in the form provided in said plans and specifications has been executed by said contractor, and satisfactory performance bond has been filed by said contractor. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Ames, Iowa, as follows: Section 1. The Contract between the City of Ames, Iowa, and Caliber Concrete, LLC of Adair, Iowa, in the amount of $109,300 dated the 10th day of December, 2024, for the Lloyd Kurtz Park Mini-Pitch Project, Bid Package 2 – Mini-Pitch System, Lights, and Acrylic Surfacing as provided for in the detailed plans and specifications referred to in the preamble hereof, and the performance bond of the said contractor with Westfield Insurance Company, of West Des Moines, Iowa, as surety thereon, in the amount of $109,300 filed in connection therewith, be and the same are hereby approved. Section 2. All resolutions or order or parts thereof in conflict herewith are hereby repealed to the extent of such conflict.
