HomeMy WebLinkAbout~Master - August 2, 2021, COTA Meeting MinutesMinutes COMMISSION ON THE ARTS Council Chambers, City Hall Monday, August 2, 2021 Call to Order: The meeting was called to order at 5:00 p.m. by Tom Lockhart. Members present were Deanne Brill, Dave Detlefs, Nancy Gebhart, and Steven Kawaler. Public Forum There was no one present for public forum. Approval of the June 7, 2021 Minutes Deanne moved and Nancy seconded to approve the minutes of the June 7, 2021 meeting. Motion carried unanimously. Approve Final Reports: Brian indicated that some organizations had not yet turned in final report and those would be sent when received. It was moved by Nancy, seconded by David to make the final report deadline the final Monday in July. Motion carried unanimously. It was moved by Tom, seconded by Deanne to approve the Annual Grant final reports received. Motion carried unanimously. It was moved by Steve, seconded by David to approve the Spring Special Project Grant final reports received. Motion carried unanimously. Approve 2022/23 Annual Grant Application and Report Forms Nancy asked about the information being collected related to reaching young people. That emphasis is mentioned on the instructions document but is not reflected well in the application and report. Some of the terms, such as “diverse segments of the community” are not defined. She asked whether we know why we ask these questions. Changes were discussed to the instructions, application, and final report forms. It was moved by Nancy, seconded by Steve to approve the forms with changes. Motion carried unanimously. Approve Spring 2022 Special Project Grant Application and Report Forms Changes were discussed to the instructions, application, and final report forms. The per-grant maximum was increased to $3,000 for spring 2022. It was moved by Deanne, seconded by David to approve the forms with changes. Motion carried unanimously. Upcoming Important Dates Tom reviewed the upcoming important dates. Adjournment There being no further business before the Commission, the meeting adjourned at 6:10 p.m.
