downtown; a mural contest/city gathering; people adopting intersections to beautify. Also,
continuing storm drain and transformer projects, and revisiting PAC’s previous project list

Brian proposed coming up with a list to present to the Council at Budget time which will be

VII. New and Continuing Business, Action Needed
A. Meeting Time Changes
Sara moved and Aspen seconded that the time of meetings should change to the first Tuesdays of the
month at 5:30 PM effective April 1, 2022. The motion was approved. This will allow new members of
PAC to start with the new meeting time. Transportation issues for members will be discussed at a later
date.
B. Ice Arena Mural Request
Angie has contacted Taylor Bassett at the Ice Arena regarding funding for a mural. Fundraising projects
will be discussed.
C. Priscilla Sage artwork in Auditorium and Lighting for Art.
Aspen contacted Craig Kaufman, Auditorium and Bandshell Community Center Manager who did not
know about previous plans for museum quality lighting for the Priscilla Sage art pieces in the
Auditorium. He did note that the pieces are in bad repair. Olivia suggested that members of the
Collections Management committee all view the pieces and discuss making a recommendation for
deaccession.
D. Dahlquist Light features downtown
PAC discussed several options in dealing with the Dahlquist Light fixtures downtown. The Main Street
organization has requested that they be removed. Main Street is putting together a vision of what
downtown will look like, so they would like to have these dealt with before their vision is complete per
Brian.
Brian has contacted public works about what would be involved in removing the lights. Removal cost
will depend on what is involved, especially if electrical issues are involved inside and under the lights.
Brian will investigate what the cost should be. PAC may need to request further funds in our new
budget request, per Olivia.
Erica moved and Karen seconded that PAC deaccession the Dahlquist light fixtures, timing for removal
to be determined. The motion was unanimously approved. Brian will take it to Council.
VIII. For the Good of the Order – There are two ISU Hockey games this weekend, in case any PAC
members would like to see the location of the Ice Arena mural while attending the games.
IX. Adjournment (Angie DeWaard)
Angie DeWaard adjourned the meeting at 1:19 pm.
The next PAC meeting is scheduled on Wednesday, January 5, 2022, at 12:00 noon in 135 Ames City Hall.
