MEETING MINUTES – December 6th, 2022

In attendance: Kyle Hauswirth (Secretary), Angie DeWaard (By Phone), Aarman Gupta, Mohammad

• Meeting called to order at 5:56 PM
• Consent Agenda- Move to Approve- Hauswirth

o Nothing to report on Erica’s behalf
• City Liaison’s Report
o City council budget to be approved on Tuesday
• Status Updates-
o Art in the Parks-
▪ Dr. Merchant called Keith and left a message Hira Park.
▪ Angie will reach out via Email
o What not to do with Public Arts-
▪ Holding Pattern
o Solar Lighting-
▪ Candace sent emails with some pictures that she thinks would be good options
and had Saahar’s list as well.
▪ There was a lot of confusion as to the project and the speed at which the
project was progressing.
▪ There was discussion about potentially tabling this discussion until we can set
aside money in the long term for a true professional lighting project.
▪ We need to prioritize our current collection and upkeep.
o Art Upkeep-
▪ Hauswirth volunteered to create a Google form to monitor current art and be
able to report art.
▪ Plan is to assign commission members a couple art pieces to examine over the
year.
o Ice Arena Mural-
▪ Angie believes that Taylor is not interested in moving on this on the time.
▪ Recommended striking this from the agenda.
▪ Joe made the point that we have indoor parks, and we can utilize money for
indoor park projects.
o Decommissioned Fire Hydrants-
▪ Angie is doing some Media to promote the Fire Hydrants and AAOSE and
Neighborhood Art.
▪ With this project being as fun as it was, there was discussion about turning this
into an ongoing PAC project.
