the Tahira and Labh Hira Park

and Rec and will use this to deploy future fire hydrant art winners. The map of the
mutt-mitt locations was included in meeting materials for this meeting.
c. Roundabout Subcommittee: The project budget includes $4000 from restitution
and $5000 from the ISU Research Park. City Staff recommend potentially
allocating another $16-20,000 from the excess budget line to this project. Once
budget has been finalized we can put out call for artists. Additional donations
from businesses represented at ISU Research Park may be sought.
d. AMES (Accessible Map Envisioning System: A subcommittee (Briest, Merchant
and Chikerinets) will meet with Cerise representatives Christine Crippen and
Barbara Neal and Brian Phillips on 11/8/23 to present the proposal approved by
PAC and to seek feedback.
e. Transformer wrapping: Call for proposals out. Couple more weeks to await
submittals.
f. Photography Contest—There was discussion about what details of a
photography calendar sponsored by PAC would look like. On the one hand
photographs of public art in the Ames inventory could be presented in all the
seasons of the year. On the other hand photographs of Ames subjects created
by local photographers could be used without limiting the subject matter to PAC
associated art. We need to contact Heuss Printing and Sigler to get rough idea of
costs to produce quality calendar.
