Consent agenda: Kedrowski / Janice Reutter move to change minutes from April to August III. Consent agenda: motion/second Briest/Kedrowski IV. Committee Reports: a. Erica—Outreach no new meetings to report on but plans underway for future meetings to get ready for neighborhood art ant AAOSE b. Public Relations: Kyle Hauswirth is working to regain access to our social media accounts c. Collection Management: Theresa Stromberg-Murphy has been reviewing what has already been done RE GIS project and then plans to convene the committee. V. Public Forum: We have a photographer from daily newspaper VI. Chair’s report: Octagon Art Festival September 24th. PAC is hosting a booth and volunteer support is needed. VII. Liaison Comments: No significant additions other than what is in agenda. VIII. Old Business: a. Art in the Parks (Hira Park): 3 volunteers in commission plus Brian Phillips. There may be quite a few interested artists. There needs to be a 30 minute orientation meeting followed by time for scoring followed by a 2nd meeting to reach consensus. Deadline for the project submission is September 8th. Briest, Stromberg-Murphy and Janice Reutter and Joe Merchant b. Decommissioned Fire Hydrants i. Map with Location of Mutt-mitt bags is being created by Parks and Rec c. Ice Arena Mural: This was completed and is off the agenda. Artists were friendly and easy to work with and were appreciative of the opportunity, d. Problem Pedestals: No updates on Public Works progress on removal of the process of removal. IX. NEW BUSINESS a. Oakley Cadogan and Armaan Gupta have resigned from the commission. b. Valerie Stallbaumer wishes to donate a watercolor painting and up to four oil painting to the PAC collection. The painting by Keith VanDePol is called Aquarium. Motion Kedrowski and 2nd Stromberg-Murphy. Unanimous i. Four other oil paintings by same artist were presented by Valerie. We will not pursue those at present. c. Roundabout Subcommittee: Has not met. Hopefully we will be able to meet after summer is over d. AMES project: draft proposal to be discussed with CyRide was included in the agenda of the meeting. City “right of way” policy establishes the area eligible for art installation. There are a few examples of art that had been placed at shelters including one at 4th street and south Hazel. Movement by Kedrowski and 2nd Reutter to approve Ames proposal to be sent to Cyride. Will discuss with Barb and Chris at Cerise. e. Next project. i. Electric box wrapping project. Electric wants to wrap a new box that cannot be adequately screened by bushes/shrubs. Local company would create template based one measurement. This is downtown adjacent on Main Street side near City Hall. Motion Kedrowski 2nd Merchant. f. Final: Octagon is approaching city council to name September “Art month.” Motion of support by Reutter and Briest unanimous. g. New members for boards and commissions. Not a lot of applicants interested in PAC. X. Motion to adjourn Briest and Reutter. Adjourned meeting at 1815.
