This amount means it requires much higher approval and calls for bids than just PAC getting an estimate. 2) PAC voted to decide which group of 10 sculptures needs to be lit up at night the most and do those first to see how well they handle Iowa weather. If things seem to go well, PAC may decide to purchase more lighting in groups of 10 due to cost. VII) New and Continuing Business – Action Needed A) Ice Arena Mural request (Angie DeWaard)(1min) 1) Taylor Bassett, ice arena manager, has requested a mural potentially be put in the stairway at the arena if funding could become available. (a) PAC discussed classifying the ice arena as a park so money could be shuffled around to provide funding from the Art in the Parks budget line. The Ice arena is operated by the parks and recreation department of the City of Ames (jointly with ISU). (b) Awaiting input from Taylor, as she is looking at project internally. B) Decommissioned Fire Hydrants (Angie DeWaard) (5 min) 1) Painted hydrants being picked-up. Installation in November. C) Damaged art (Roundabout Subcommittee)(10 min) 1) Monolith has been deaccessioned. How are we going to replace the sculpture is what we are trying to decide. D) Sculptures of different animals/objects at each CyRide transfer point for people/drivers to refer to when directing people around the transit system.
