A) Ice Arena Mural request (5 min)
1) Taylor Bassett, ice arena manager, has requested a mural potentially be put in the landing of the
stairs (see photos at end of agenda). Does not have a budget currently.
(a) PAC discussed trying to partner with the ice arena/Parks & Rec on fundraising to pay for this
mural. Angie has sent an email to Taylor inquiring about this possibility.
B) Museum Quality Lighting for Auditorium Stairwell (5 min)
1) Message received on City website from Tom Jackson. In summary – Ames Town & Gown Chamber
Music Association purchased two works by Priscilla Sage for the lobby of Ames City Auditorium in
2009, and PAC purchased museum-quality lighting for them. Artist loved the display and donated
an additional piece for the stairwell. “No lighting has ever been installed and that has been a
disappointment to both the artist and the patrons.”
2) Dropbox folder does not have minutes, funding requests, or budget information going back that far.
Aspen checked with ISU Museum and Olivia checked with Kerry. No information from either, but
Aspen received information from Auditorium management. Pieces are beyond repair.
3) Remaining members of Collection Management will review the pieces, and we will vote to
decommission at January meeting pending that decision.
