In summary – Ames Town & Gown Chamber Music Association purchased two works by Priscilla Sage for the lobby of Ames City Auditorium in 2009, and PAC purchased museum-quality lighting for them. Artist loved the display and donated an additional piece for the stairwell. “No lighting has ever been installed and that has been a disappointment to both the artist and the patrons.” 2) Dropbox folder does not have minutes, funding requests, or budget information going back that far. 3) Action options: (a) Research museum-quality lighting. Fund as a commission from current budget. (b) Research museum-quality lighting. Carve out special budget item on next year’s requests to Council. (c) Decline to pursue lighting. E) AAOSE honorarium amounts (Olivia Madison) (5 min) 1) Honorariums have been $1000 for as long as we can remember. Asking if it might be beneficial to program to increase amount, since artists have to ship their pieces here, as well as increasing the Best In Show award from $500. 2) Annual AAOSE budget is $19,500. We carried over $20,000+ from 2020-21 FY. 3) Action options: (a) Increase stipend amount to $1500 and Best In Show to $750 (b) Increase by reduced amounts, or increase one and not the other. (c) Leave at $1000 and $500 respectively (d) Revisit next year F) Photo triptych in Council Chambers, Home by Eric Sealine (5 min) 1) Under the image is a series of acrylic panels with statements, one mentioning “Squaw Creek” which is now “Ioway Creek” (a) It is unclear if the words are the work of the artist or others 2) Council members informally mentioned this to Brian 3) Action options: (a) Place an interpretive label nearby explaining the name of the creek has now changed due to its offensiveness (b) Contact the artist and see if it is desired to change it (c) Leave it as is VI) For the Good of the Order – Group Discussion / New Ideas (5 min) VII) Adjournment (Angie DeWaard) Next Scheduled PAC Meeting: Wednesday, December 1, 2021 at 12:00 Noon Upcoming/Recent Dates of Note: • Fri., October 1, 2021 – Entries Opened for AAOSE • Fri., December 17, 2021 – Neighborhood Art Applications Due • Fri., January 28, 2022 – Entries Close for AAOSE Ice arena photos:
