Committee report (Olivia Madison) 1) Discuss current plan/overview of committee meeting on 09/30/2020 a. Add pieces in our current inventory to pads downtown along with 2021 AAOSE pieces to fill every pad. b. Children’s Memorial Garden Incorporation c. Mural Creation/watch event d. Possible Partnership with local community groups i. Idea of using a portion of our funding from the city to create a workspace/gallery co-op space for local artists ii. Scholarships? 2 of 2 iii. Contact COTA Regarding working together I. New Business 1. Dahlquist Light features downtown (5 min) a. Currently reaching out to various contacts regarding quotes for repair of both the brick and the steel elements per Brian, going through the City’s purchasing process. Update from Brian. b. Pending repair quotes, possibly repair one per year? c. Will discuss further once sufficient quotes have been obtained 2. Tim Adams Sculpture- “Resonance” (10 min) a. Artist is curious whether we have plans to display it elsewhere, or if it is being decommissioned. If we are decommissioning, he has stated he would take it back. b. Possible installation at Miracle Park? c. Recent news: these pieces were damaged during removal from Tom Evans Park and are likely a costly repair. d. Vote to Decommission? J. Ames Annual Outdoor Sculpture Exhibition (AAOSE) (10 Min) 1. Best In Show 2. Update on new brochures/fliers (Taylor Carlson) 3. Call for artists nearly completed, deadline will be January 29. Start to think of possible Jurors. b. Neighborhood Art (10 min) 1. Current status of Monolith (supposed to be in the roundabout on University), Loop (Hunziker Youth Sports Complex), and DanceNoWaste (South Duff and Chestnut), and Spiky Smooth (South Dakota and Cochrane). 2. Press release announcing the deadline to apply for Neighborhood Sculpture from our 2020 AAOSE Collection. Deadline is December 15 3. Transformer Cabinet Mural Project Proposal Update (James Surber, Andrew Ward) This item was discussed at our Celebration and believed to be a valuable addition to Neighborhood art, idea of neighborhoods 3 of 2 submitting their own artwork to be turned into wraps to promote community involvement and ownership. 2.
