1.Artist Workspace Partnership with COTA and the Octagon (10 min)
a.Idea came up during celebration committee meeting
b.Per Brian Phillips, the money (10k) is there, but it is not ours to do with as we
please. The money is specifically meant to find individual artists.
c.Per previous meeting, discussion on how PAC could use these funds instead
1.Ideas on Proposal?
d.The Octagon team has drafted a proposal to City Council to use these funds to
renovate the 3rd floor of the Octagon Gallery for shared artist workspace.
1.While this is not Public Art, I strongly feel that PAC should be involved in
this in some way, if only as a silent/supporting partner, to strengthen our
relationships with the Main Street Community.

2.Tedesco Learning Corridor
a.Jerry Keys contacted regarding adding the pads at Tedesco to our call for artists
for AAOSE
b.Technically couldn’t be part of AAOSE as it is a county park, but could be
mutually advertised to let artists know of the new space for sculptures

a.Ames Annual Outdoor Sculpture Exhibition (AAOSE) (5 min)
1.Possible Jurors for upcoming show.
2.Press Release/Call for Artists - send out again?
b.Neighborhood Art (10 min)
1.Invite community members to apply for Neighborhood Sculpture from
our 2020 AAOSE Collection. Deadline is December 15.
a.Update on entries.
b.Outreach Committee needs to review and narrow down entries to
around 3 finalists for purchase and placement, taking price into
consideration.
c.Ultimately must be approved by risk management and traffic
departments, among others.
2.Transformer Cabinet Mural Project Proposal (James Surber, Andrew
Ward)
a.Ask people in the community to submit artwork for a transformer
box in their own neighborhoods, promoting a sense of ownership
of the artwork.
b.Alternative for neighborhoods that may not be a good candidate
for a sculpture
c.Broaden our scope for mural/2d work outside of just the
downtown neighborhood

a.Festival & Event Participation for FY2021 (Sara Sherman)

a.City Hall Art Placement/Signage – removal and installation (Olivia Madison)
