a. Idea came up as part of the anniversary celebration, contacted COTA chair Tom
Lockhart, who was very open to the idea.
b. Per Brian Phillips, the money (10k) is there, but it is not ours to do with as we
please. He suggested working with COTA and the staff of the building who is
interested in participating to draft a proposal to City Council.
c. Will meet with the interested parties soon to get this going. UPDATE: met
briefly with Tom Lockhart from COTA, as well as Heather Johnson and staff.
The Octagon team has drafted a proposal to City Council to use that money to
renovate the 3rd floor of the Octagon Gallery for shared artist workspace.
1. While this is not Public Art, I strongly feel that PAC should be involved in
this in some way, if only as a silent partner, to strengthen our
relationships with the Main Street Community.
