Subject: updates on COTA special projects grants
[External Email]
Brian,
I wanted to give you an update on the two special projects grants that Town and Gown has received from the 2020-21 fiscal year.
The Merz trio outreach originally funded for fall 2020 and extended to spring 2021 will take place this spring. Our artistic director, Paula Forrest, has been in touch with the Ames
High School orchestra director regarding an online master class for high school students. While we haven’t set an exact date, we are pretty much certain that this will take place before
the end of the 2020-21 school year.
The Frank Levy outreach funded by a spring 2021 special project grant will not take place by the end of the City of Ames fiscal year. The Town and Gown Board of Directors has decided
not to have any in-person events for the remainder the 2020-21 season. Our Artistic Director will talk to Mr. Levy about rescheduling for the 2021-22 season. This means that the outreach
event will get deferred until the next fiscal year. Please advise whether it will be possible to postpone this special projects grant until next year. Either I or another Town and Gown
Board member will be available to discuss this with the COTA board whenever it is convenient to put this on their agenda.
Thanks for your assistance on this. Have a Happy New Year!
Regards,
Bill Dilla
Treasurer, Ames Town & Gown Chamber Music Association
