Home My WebLink About~Master - Contract and Bond for Water Pollution Control Facility Nutrient Reduction Modifications Phase 1 Project RESOLUTION NO. 24-472 RESOLUTION APPROVING CONTRACT AND BOND FOR CONSTRUCTION OF THE WATER POLLUTION CONTROL FACILITY NUTRIENT REDUCTION MODIFICATIONS PHASE 1 PROJECT FOR THE CITY OF AMES,IOWA WHEREAS, this City Council has heretofore determined it advisable and necessary that certain improvements be constructed in the City of Ames, Iowa, such project having been designated as the Water Pollution Control Facility Nutrient Reduction Modifications Phase 1 project; and, pursuant to notice and hearing, bids were received on the 26th day of June, 2024, as called for in the detailed plans and specifications as prepared by the Water and Pollution Control Department and filed with the City Clerk on the 17th day of May, 2024; and, WHEREAS, the City Council has heretofore determined that the bid of Woodruff Construction, Inc., of Ames, Iowa, in the amount of $53,370,000 is the lowest and best bid submitted for the construction of said project; and, WHEREAS, the Contract in the form provided in said plans and specifications has been executed by said contractor, and satisfactory performance bond has been filed by said contractor. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Ames, Iowa, as follows: Section 1. The Contract between the City of Ames, Iowa, and Woodruff Construction, Inc., of Ames, Iowa, in the amount of$53,370,000 dated the 13th day of August, 2024, for the Water Pollution Control Facility Nutrient Reduction Modifications Phase 1 project as provided for in the detailed plans and specifications referred to in the preamble hereof, and the performance bond of the said contractor with Liberty Mutual Insurance Company, of Boston,Massachusetts,as surety thereon, in the amount of$53,370,000 filed in connection therewith, be and the same are hereby approved. Section 2. All resolutions or order or parts thereof in conflict herewith are hereby repealed to the extent of such conflict.
