RESOLUTION APPROVING THE PURCHASE OF
NOTRAFFIC VIDEO/RADAR DETECTION SYSTEMS
FOR THE CITY OF AMES,IOWA
WHEREAS, at its March 12, 2024, meeting, the City Council approved single source
purchases for NoTraffic Video/Radar Detection Systems from General Traffic Controls of
Spencer, Iowa, to be used for several current and future CIP projects; and,
WHEREAS, these systems allow for more sophisticated, reliable, and efficient
management of traffic through the Intelligent Transportation System project. The NoTraffic
systems were selected following an exploration of a variety of systems and were selected due to
their features, cost, and compatibility with the City's traffic system; and,
WHEREAS, it has been determined that an additional four detection systems are required
to completely furnish Phases 1 and 2 of the Intelligent Transportation System with video/radar
detection systems.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Ames, Iowa,
that the purchase of NoTraffic Video/Radar Detection Systems from General Traffic Controls,
Spencer, Iowa, in an amount not to exceed $103,412 as a single source provider is hereby
approved.
