RESOLUTION APPROVING IOWA DOT IOWA CLEAN AIR
ATTAINMENT PROGRAM AGREEMENT FOR THE INTELLIGENT
TRANSPORTATION SYSTEMS PROGRAM (PHASE 4)
FOR THE CITY OF AMES,IOWA
WHEREAS,the Intelligent Transportation System(ITS)Program will implement real-time
optimization of traffic and pedestrian flow at signalized intersections. The FY 2024/25 Capital
Improvements Plan(CIP) includes the design and construction of Phase 4 of the City's ITS Master
Plan,which covers the southwest quadrant of town,including Lincoln Way, South Dakota Avenue,
and Mortensen Road; and,
WHEREAS, the City has received an Iowa Clean Air Attainment Program(ICAAP) grant
from the Iowa Department of Transportation (DOT) in the amount of$1,521,280 for the Phase 4
project. ICAAP grant funds will be critical for proceeding with Phase 4 of the ITS program.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Ames, Iowa,
that the Iowa DOT Iowa Clean Air Attainment Program agreement for $1,521,280 for the
Intelligent Transportation Systems Program(Phase 4) is hereby approved.
