Home My WebLink About~Master - Contract and Bond for Fitch Family Indoor Aquatic Center Project Bid Package 21-1 RESOLUTION NO. 24-073 RESOLUTION APPROVING CONTRACT AND BOND FOR CONSTRUCTION OF FITCH FAMILY INDOOR AQUATIC CENTER PROJECT BID PACKAGE 21-1 FOR THE CITY OF AMES,IOWA WHEREAS, this City Council has heretofore determined it advisable and necessary that certain improvements be constructed in the City of Ames, Iowa, such project having been designated as the Fitch Family Indoor Aquatic Center; and, pursuant to notice and hearing, bids were received on the 1 lth day of January,2024, as called for in the detailed plans and specifications as prepared by the Parks and Recreation Department and filed with the City Clerk on the 27th day of November, 2023; and, WHEREAS,the City Council has heretofore determined that the bid of Midwest Automatic Fire Sprinkler Company of Des Moines, Iowa, in the amount of$130,100 is the lowest and best bid submitted for the construction of said project; and, WHEREAS, the Contract in the form provided in said plans and specifications has been executed by said contractor, and satisfactory performance bond has been filed by said contractor. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Ames, Iowa, as follows: Section 1. The Contract between the City of Ames, Iowa, and Midwest Automatic Fire Sprinkler Company of Des Moines, Iowa, in the amount of$130,100 dated the 141h day of February, 2024, for the Fitch Family Indoor Aquatic Center Bid Package 2 1-1 as provided for in the detailed plans and specifications referred to in the preamble hereof, and the performance bond of the said contractor with United Fire & Casualty Company, of Cedar Rapids, Iowa, as surety thereon, in the amount of$130,100 filed in connection therewith, be and the same are hereby approved. Section 2. All resolutions or order or parts thereof in conflict herewith are hereby repealed to the extent of such conflict. ADOPTED THIS 13th day of February, 2024. Renee kall, City Clerk John A.
