HomeMy WebLinkAbout~Master - Contract and Bond for Fitch Family Indoor Aquatic Center Project Bid Package 04-1 RESOLUTION NO. 24-067 RESOLUTION APPROVING CONTRACT AND BOND FOR CONSTRUCTION OF FITCH FAMILY INDOOR AQUATIC CENTER PROJECT BID PACKAGE 04-1 FOR THE CITY OF AMES,IOWA WHEREAS, this City Council has heretofore determined it advisable and necessary that certain improvements be constructed in the City of Ames, Iowa, such project having been designated as the Fitch Family Indoor Aquatic Center; and, pursuant to notice and hearing, bids were received on the 1 lth day of January,2024, as called for in the detailed plans and specifications as prepared by the Parks and Recreation Department and filed with the City Clerk on the 27th day of November, 2023; and, WHEREAS,the City Council has heretofore determined that the bid of Forrest&Associate of Des Moines, Iowa, in the amount of $84,275 is the lowest and best bid submitted for the construction of said project; and, WHEREAS, the Contract in the form provided in said plans and specifications has been executed by said contractor, and satisfactory performance bond has been filed by said contractor. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Ames, Iowa, as follows: Section 1. The Contract between the City of Ames, Iowa, and Forrest&Associate of Des Moines, Iowa, in the amount of$84,275 dated the 14th day of February,2024, for the Fitch Family Indoor Aquatic Center 04-1 as provided for in the detailed plans and specifications referred to in the preamble hereof, and the performance bond of the said contractor with Merchants Bonding Company (Mutual), of Des Moines, Iowa, as surety thereon, in the amount of$84,275 filed in connection therewith, be and the same are hereby approved. Section 2. All resolutions or order or parts thereof in conflict herewith are hereby repealed to the extent of such conflict. ADOPTED THIS 13th day of February, 2024. Renee kall, City Clerk John A.
