Home My WebLink About~Master - Amendment to Ames Area Metropolitan Planning Organization Articles of Agreement RESOLUTION NO. 24-053 RESOLUTION APPROVING AMENDMENT TO THE AMES AREA METROPOLITAN PLANNING ORGANIZATION ARTICLES OF AGREEMENT FOR THE CITY OF AMES,IOWA WHEREAS, the Ames Area Metropolitan Planning Organization was officially designated as the Metropolitan Planning Organization(MPO) of the Ames urbanized area by the Governor of Iowa in March 2003; and WHEREAS, an Articles of Agreement was established between the MPO's member agencies to establish the MPO, designate its powers and purposes, establish its member agencies and membership procedures, provide a framework of organization for the MPO, and establish how the MPO would be financially supported by its member agencies; and WHEREAS, the Articles of Agreement was filed with the Secretary of State as a 28E Agreement on April 4, 2011; and WHEREAS, the Articles of Agreement may be amended by an affirmative vote of the Transportation Policy Committee; and WHEREAS, the Transportation Policy Committee approved an amendment to the Articles of Agreement on January, 23, 2024; and WHEREAS, the amendment to the Articles of Agreement must be approved by all MPO member agencies, including the City of Ames, within 60 calendar days of the amendment's approval by the Transportation Policy Committee; and, WHEREAS, the amended Articles of Agreement will be submitted to the Secretary of State as an amendment and substitution of the existing 28E Agreement upon receipt of measures of approval from all MPO member agencies; and, NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City of Ames hereby approves this amendment to the Ames Area Metropolitan Planning Organization Articles of Agreement.
